Questions
What we get asked most. Anything not here — just ask us.
What is a double roll?
A European roll is 53 cm wide and 10.05 m long — about 57 square feet — and is sold as one physical roll. It is called a double roll because it holds roughly twice what an American single roll does.
It is one roll, not two. Every price on this site is the price of that one roll.
How many rolls will I need?
Use the calculator on any product page: enter your wall size and it counts the actual strips, allowing for the pattern repeat and 10% for trimming.
Do not estimate by dividing wall area by roll area — for patterned paper that under-orders, and running out mid-wall usually means a different print batch.
Why does the batch number matter?
Wallpaper is printed in runs, and colour varies slightly between them. Rolls ordered together come from the same batch; rolls ordered later may not.
Order the whole job at once, and check every roll matches before you start hanging.
Can I see it before I commit?
Two ways. The room visualiser puts the pattern on a photo of your own wall at true scale — a 53 cm roll renders 53 cm wide.
And order a sample. Nothing on a screen matches holding the paper against your own wall in your own light, which is the whole reason samples exist.
Do I paste the wall or the paper?
The wall. Almost everything we stock is non-woven, which is hung dry straight from the roll onto a pasted wall. It is faster, cleaner and does not need a pasting table.
The hanging method is listed on every product page.
Is it suitable for a bathroom or kitchen?
Check the washability rating on the product page. Scrubbable and super washable papers cope with those rooms as long as they are ventilated.
No wallpaper survives direct water, so keep it out of the shower splash zone.
How hard is it to remove later?
Non-woven paper strips dry — lift a corner and pull the sheet away in one piece. No soaking, no steamer, no scoring the wall.
The colour on my screen — how accurate is it?
Close, but never exact. Screens vary, and so does the light in your room. Photos of textured and metallic papers are the least reliable of all.
This is what samples are for.
